Digigram · ALP-X series · Low profile PCIe sound card

Multi-channel low profile PCIe sound card for recording analog inputs — rock-solid, pristine quality.

The Digigram ALP-280E has been designed for the acquisition of analog signals from eight line-level audio inputs, on professional PC-based audio systems running under Windows and Linux environments. This low profile card guarantees unrivaled reliability and utmost quality when audio recording applications are critical — audio production, recording and audio analysis markets.

  • Iconic rock-solid & lifelong durability — designed for critical audio recording applications in audio production, recording and audio analysis markets.
  • Pristine Digigram audio quality — SNR >115 dBA A-weighted on inputs, THD+N <-98 dB, with 24-bit / 192 kHz A/D and D/A converters.
  • Zero latency FPGA-based 16×10 mixer — 16 inputs (8 analog + 8 software playback channels) and 10 outputs (2 analog + 8 software recording channels). Each output channel has its own mix from the 16 inputs.
  • Multi-applications — one driver package with multi-application and multi-card API available. Up to 8 ALP-X cards manageable from one unified control panel.
  • Hiccup free reliability — low profile card with standard and low profile brackets included. PCI Express x1 (x2, x4, x8, x16 compatible).
  • 8 GPIs and 8 GPOs — 8 dry contact GPIs and 8 relay GPOs (0.5 A, 48 VCC).
  • Inter-board synchronization — possibility to connect up to 8 ALP-X cards linked with an inter-board sync cable.

What is the Digigram ALP-280E?

A multi-channel low profile PCIe sound card designed for the acquisition of analog signals from 8 line-level audio inputs on professional PC-based audio systems running under Windows and Linux. Ideal for audio production, recording and audio analysis markets.

How many channels does the ALP-280E provide?

8 balanced analog line inputs, 2 servo-balanced analog line outputs, 8 GPIs and 8 GPOs. The on-board zero latency FPGA mixer features 16 inputs and 10 outputs.

What PCIe slot does the ALP-280E require?

It uses a PCIe x1 lane and is compatible with x2, x4, x8 and x16 slots. The low profile form factor is included with both standard and low profile brackets.

Can I use multiple ALP-280E cards in one system?

Yes. Up to 8 ALP-X cards can be connected via an inter-board sync cable and managed from Digigram's unified ALP-X Manager control panel on Windows.

Does the ALP-280E work with Linux?

Yes — with ALSA and Libgpiod drivers on Ubuntu 20.04 (kernel 5.15), Debian 11 (kernel 5.10) and RHEL 9 (kernel 5.14). One driver package covers both Windows and Linux with multi-application and multi-card API available.

What synchronization sources does the ALP-280E support?

Internal clock, AES11 input and Word Clock input — all supporting sampling rates from 11.025 kHz up to 192 kHz. Inter-board clock synchronization is available when connecting multiple ALP-X cards.

What cables and connectors are included?

Two 1m breakout cables are included: one analog cable with 8 female XLR and 2 male XLR connectors, and one digital cable with 1 XLR for AES11 sync, 2 BNCs for Word Clock I/O, and 2× D-Sub 25 for GPIs and GPOs.
